Chris Rowles Final


Chris Rowles

Chris is Director of Learning Solutions at Ashorne Hill with responsibility for the business development team and programme directors. His own experience is diverse, having experienced life in the Royal Marines; as a coach supporting the elite British Olympic Gymnastics squad; and as a senior civilian manager for a National Police Force.

Since joining Ashorne Hill in 1999 Chris has developed a proven track record within the commercial business environment and has been instrumental in the development of a number of award winning leadership and management training programmes - including a National Training Award for First Line Managers development designed in partnership with DHL, and a Safety Leadership programme which successfully created a step change in safety performance in a 42,000 employee organisation.

When it comes to meeting the development challenge, his belief is that 'people and learning" are important for success in organisations, and how this development is experienced plays a big part in creating organisational impact. Live issue facilitation or illustrated best practice are key features of Chris' interventions, constantly marrying new thinking with the organisational context.

Chris has worked with a range of sectors including heavy engineering, automotive, education, consultancy, logistics, social housing, construction and law.

Matthew Hayes Final


Matthew Hayes

Matthew heads up our e-learning solutions team, designing engaging learning solutions that blend self-paced learning, webinars and online collaboration with traditional face to face delivery.  He has extensive experience in delivering performance support projects, delivering tangible business benefit through people, and in depth understanding of training evaluation design for organisational change programmes which was the focus of his Aston University MBA dissertation. 

Since the initial concept of forming an internal e-learning capability at Ashorne four years ago, the department has expanded to a team of four full time staff. Ashorne now offers a truly blended learning solution with all expertise "in house". 

Terry Gordon Final


Terry Gordon

Terry is an experienced trainer and is our Senior Programme Director. His enthusiastic style and the wealth of practical experience that he brings to commercial and management training are highly valued by our customers.  His background in Advertising, Marketing and Business Consultancy lends itself naturally to programmes aligned towards influencing and negotiation as well as marketing, finance and project management.

Terry has been instrumental in the development of graduate training at Ashorne Hill. He currently manages the Knowledge Transfer Partnership programme on behalf of the UK government's Innovate UK and the Graduate Training Programmes for Leoni Wiring Systems and Tata Steel Europe.

He has also designed Strategic Management programmes at post-degree level for the MOD, Higher Education Institutions and other public sector bodies.

More recently Terry has specialised in the development of interactive learning media and has developed customised Business Simulation software for public and private sector customers. 

Jo Stott Final


Jo Stott

Jo is an experienced facilitator and Programme Director. Jo began her career in hospitality and catering management working in a number of operations around the world. Returning to the UK, Jo had a change of career into Learning and Development.

Jo has worked in a number of learning and development roles across several different sectors including higher education, manufacturing, construction, logistics, public services and health and social care. This has enabled Jo to become adept at identifying customer and learner needs in order to design and deliver programmes that will feel highly relevant and result in proven impact on the business.  Jo has a highly interactive, supportive style and uses accelerated learning techniques as the basis for all programmes. 

Currently Jo is moving into a more 'blended' style of learning pathway for each programme, her specialist areas are personal effectiveness, leadership, talent management and business improvement including culture change.

Jennifer Shetty Final


Jennifer Shetty

Jen is one of our e-learning Designers at Ashorne Hill. Jen's background in using learning technologies in Higher Education gives her a clear advantage when deciphering which delivery methods best suit the online learning content she creates. She has a passion for communication, which is reflected in her Masters degree in Linguistics. 

Whether it's technical script writing, narrative story telling or instructions, Jen can find the words to communicate in a clear and concise way. That passion for language combined with her boundless creativity and flair for graphical design make her a force to be reckoned with when it comes to creating dynamic, innovative and engaging online learning experiences.     

James Ruffel Final


James Ruffell

James is one of our e-learning Designers at Ashorne Hill. James has a background in delivering graphics media, with a particular interest in interactive content and animation. He has a diverse skill base and design experience in the construction industry which has given him a strong technical grounding alongside his creative skills. A passion for visual communication and an enthusiasm for new techniques and technology is reflected in his ability to produce effective and engaging e-learning material. 


Daniel Coyle Final


Daniel Coyne

Dan is one of our e-learning Designers at Ashorne Hill. Dan has a strong background in visualising concepts, designing a brief and providing impactful design and graphics. Previously working as a lead designer on a number of Flash-based projects for a global organisation. Experienced in gamification, Dan creates graphics and animations, and in particular, Dan is keen on film-making, animation and illustration.

James Marshall Bennett


James-Marshall Bennett

James is one of our e-learning Designers at Ashorne Hill. With a background in creative media production, James has a strong interest in role of technology throughout the creative process. From previous experience in a music production studio, and throughout education, James has transferable skills in Audio-Visual production, editing and publishing. Eager to further his understanding of learning technology he will be enrolling in a part time MSc.

Emma Harris Final


Emma Harris

Emma is an experienced Senior Operations Coordinator. Having worked at Ashorne Hill since 1998, she has coordinated numerous programmes providing critical information on small and large scale programmes for public and private sector organisations.

She provides essential operational services to ensure programmes run efficiently and effectively, collating and documenting participant information, recording data associated with attendance and accreditation and supplying superb support materials so that programmes are presented professionally.  

She also has responsibility as Ashorne Hill's Centre Manager for the ILM and CMI, providing guidance to customers on the complete accreditation process and ensuring Ashorne Hill continue to meet the requirements as an approved centre. 

Lauren Miller Final


Lauren Miller

Lauren is an experienced Operations Coordinator. With a previous background in the Educational sector, Lauren displays a strong level of skills in coordinating conferences and training programmes.

Before joining Ashorne Hill, Lauren worked at a local training college, taking training enquiries from the public and managing the co-ordination of bespoke training courses. Within the role, Lauren had the responsibility to work with well renowned clients, coordinating courses for their employees, whilst using their internal systems.

Lauren has had the opportunity to study and complete up to a NVQ Level 4 in Business Administration which strengthened her depth of knowledge in Business Relations.

Currently coordinating the Innovate UK Knowledge Transfer Programme for Innovate UK, Lauren enjoys customer engagement and with a strong attention to detail, ensures that the customer is happy and that their needs are met.
